The Zip Virtual card is only designed to be open for 14 days after creation, so it's important to follow a few best practices when shopping online.
Don’t save your Virtual Card info on shopping websites:
Major shopping websites allow you to save your card for later use, but you should not save your Zip virtual card on any website. For each purchase that you make using Zip, a new Zip Virtual Card needs to be generated and is unique to that specific purchase. If you save your Zip Virtual Card to a website, it will not work in the future.
If your Zip virtual card is declined for any reason, some shopping websites may automatically switch to one of your other saved cards. If this happens, your order will not go through Zip and you will likely be charged for the full amount by the merchant.
Make a new Purchase Request and new Zip Virtual Card for each order:
Every time you’ve completed a Zip order and would like to place another one, you will need to make a new Purchase Request to generate a new Zip Virtual Card.
To ensure your Zip virtual card does not get declined:
- Always make a new Purchase Request for a new order.
- Be sure to include tax, shipping costs, and other fees in your Purchase Requests.
Make sure your personal card has funds:
Make sure that your personal repayment method has enough funds to cover your first Zip installment or you will experience a decline to avoid Adverse Action implications.
