Accounts with installments that have been **past due for an extended period** of time are sent to collections. This is an automated process - Zip Customer Support agents do not have visibility as to when this will happen for a given order or its installments.

## How can I avoid being sent to collections?

Please make a payment as soon as you can to avoid being sent to collections. You can update your payment info and make payments through the **Zip app** and in our **Customer Portal**.

Using the [Zip Customer Portal](https://customer.us.zip.co/), you can log either via your mobile number or email address and gain instant access to current orders. You can also see your past payments, and payments due.

## Can I make a payment arrangement or a payment plan?

Zip is already an installment plan provider, so further payment plans are unfortunately not available.

**Note:** Zip accounts can become past due for a variety of reasons. If you are experiencing a form of financial hardship and provide sufficient evidence of such hardship, you may be eligible to have your order(s) paused until you are able to make payment.
